Afternoon tea at Reedness Primary School aims to bring the community together
Reedness Primary School near Goole is hosting an Inter-Generational Afternoon Tea on Thursday, 14 July from 2pm-4pm.
There will be free refreshments and a chance to see some of the school pupils' work from the past year, as well as an opportunity to meet new people from the local community.
Molly Curtis, community sports coach at the council, explained: "The East Riding Health and Wellbeing Team have been working alongside the Head at Reedness Primary School to start up some inter-generational activity sessions.
"We hope to attract people within the local community, to come out and meet new faces, and do some fun activities with the children. Our first event will be an afternoon tea at the school, where people can come and enjoy an afternoon of refreshments and socialising.
"We hope to then move forward and organise sessions once a term so the children can show residents what they have been doing in school, and share their work with them. We have trialed this with Kingsway Primary School, and it has proved a success, so we are very excited to expand the project further."
