Consultation for the Alamein Barracks Draft Masterplan extended
The consultation period for the Alamein Barracks Draft Masterplan Supplementary Planning Document has been extended due to the impact of the COVID-19 restrictions.
Residents wishing to have their say on the plan now have until Monday, 7 December to submit their comments to East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Masterplans provide more detailed advice or guidance on the application of policies in the East Riding Local Plan. The local plan provides for the amount, location and type of development in the East Riding.
This draft masterplan has been prepared to guide the development of the local plan housing allocation DRF-I and represents one of the key areas of housing growth within the local plan as it will provide around 360 new homes.
Once finalised, the supplementary planning document will become an important consideration in determining planning applications on the site.
Due to Government restrictions around public gatherings, the council has been unable to arrange public consultation events but the draft masterplan, consultation response form and accompanying screening documents for the sustainability appraisal, strategic environment assessment and habitats regulations assessment can be viewed by:
- downloading electronic versions by going to eastriding.gov.uk/spd
- viewing paper copies at the Driffield Centre or Beverley library and opening times can be found by going to eastriding.gov.uk/libraries
People can also take part in the consultation by completing a response form, sending an email to email@example.com or sending a letter to Forward Planning, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, County Hall, Cross Street, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA.
While the forward planning team is working remotely and email is the preferred method of communication, anyone wishing to speak directly to a planning officer about the consultation can do so by telephoning (01482) 391729.
All responses to the consultation should be received on or before Monday, 7 December 2020 and all responses will be available to view on the council's website in due course.
